1999 Season Preview

SWC Premier League

Fremantle City and Sorrento will be the favourites to take out the Premier League title this season after an impressive night series. Other teams that will have a say in the championship race are defending champions the Western Knights, Floreat Athena and the Inglewood Falcons. Perth, ECU Joondalup and Cockburn City will be fighting for a place in the top 5. Newly promoted Ashfield/Bunbury showed they will be no easy beats with a good performance in the night series. Bayswater City Panthers, the Stirling Lions and Kingsway Olympic will be hoping to avoid relegation.

Last year’s Grand Final winners Rockingham City will be hoping to clinch promotion this year after being denied a Premier League place by minor premiers Ashfield/Bunbury. Teams to challenge Rockingham City this season will be Swan I.C, Wanneroo City, Queens Park and the Dianella White Eagles. Teams likely to struggle are the Stirling Suns, Southside United, the Leeming Strikers and Armadale Park.
